NihongoUp and the new Speed Dial
Opera Software today released Opera 11.10 browser, codenamed “Barracuda,” which among other things brings a massive upgrade to one of the browser’s unique features—Speed Dial.
Speed Dial, a new tab interface which makes it easier and faster to access your favorite sites, now has a streamlined design, supports unlimited pinned sites, many more customization options, and most interestingly a way for websites to specify a custom image or even dynamic content to be displayed in Speed Dial. This is where we come in.
As you can see above, if you log in into NihongoUp, and then add the website to your Speed Dial, you won’t see just a boring screenshot or the NihongoUp logo, but a new kanji refreshed every hour and chosen from the characters you’ve had most problems with when reviewing them in the kanji quiz. Underneath, you can also view your current kanji quiz statistics.
If you are an Opera user, I hope that you’ll like this new feature, and if you haven’t tried the browser yet, this may be a great time to do so!
